The top of Table Mountain offers spectacular views in all directions and gives a birds eye view of the city. The upper cable car station is situated at 1067 metres and the revolving cablecar makes sure that your trip up and down gives you a good look in all directions.

Once on top you can follow paths to various look-outs, make use of the telescopes and enjoy a light meal or simply a sundowner drink in the restaurant. In summer, early evening is a great time to plan your trip as the sunsets are beautiful. Regardless of the weather, take a windbreaker as it can often be cool on the mountain top.

Nkanga Lodge is a well-appointed 4 star Executive Guest Lodge on 11 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens that offers affordable luxury, with an emphasis on friendly, personal yet professional service.

We are situated 8km from OR Tambo International Airport and will happily assist with airport transfers. Conveniently located to all business, shopping and entertainment amenities, Johannesburg, Sandton and Pretoria are all approximately a 30min drive from the guest lodge. Centrally situated to two major shopping centers both a convenient 15min drive away. Other amenities close by are Emperors Palace Casino, Monte casino, 5* restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, theatres, sports facilities, gyms, day spa’s and beauty salons, driving ranges, golf courses, historical sites, wild life and bird sanctuaries. We will happily arrange tours and excursions to places of interest.

All of our rooms are either double or twin en-suite and are decorated in tasteful ethnic style, each with their own private entrance for our guest’s convenience. Two spacious suites are available for guests traveling with their children. For your comfort and convenience all our rooms have either ceiling fans or air conditioning, for cool winter evenings additional heating and blankets are provided. TV’s and hospitality trays are available in all rooms to give you that ‘at home’ feeling. The safety and security of our guests is of prime importance to us at the Lodge � we take every precaution necessary to make you feel safe and at ease during your stay with us.

Breakfasts and dinners are served daily from the spacious dining area or on warm summer days the veranda overlooking the tranquil surroundings of the gardens.

Our serene environment is perfectly suited to your intimate weddings, where our in house co-ordinators are available to plan every aspect of your special day.
For meetings, team building days, conferences and corporate days our informal lapa is the ideal setting- we are able to cater for groups of up to 40 people.

Once your business day is complete you can relax on the veranda and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings or take a leisurely stroll around our dam and enjoy the bird life.

Is located in Honeydew in the north-western suburbs of Johannesburg. The owners André and Sanet Koekemoer officially opened the guest house in August 2002, naming it “Amakoekoe” as an amusing play on their surname “Koekemoer” interpreted as “ama” meaning “the” and “koekoe” as an abbreviation of “Koekemoer”.

We have also received a Superior classification by the AA Quality Assured Programme, and we were finalists in the 2004 AA Accommodation Awards. The four star graded guest lodge is surrounded by carefully maintained, vibrant gardens.
