Nkanga Lodge is a well-appointed 4 star Executive Guest Lodge on 11 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens that offers affordable luxury, with an emphasis on friendly, personal yet professional service.

We are situated 8km from OR Tambo International Airport and will happily assist with airport transfers. Conveniently located to all business, shopping and entertainment amenities, Johannesburg, Sandton and Pretoria are all approximately a 30min drive from the guest lodge. Centrally situated to two major shopping centers both a convenient 15min drive away. Other amenities close by are Emperors Palace Casino, Monte casino, 5* restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, theatres, sports facilities, gyms, day spa’s and beauty salons, driving ranges, golf courses, historical sites, wild life and bird sanctuaries. We will happily arrange tours and excursions to places of interest.

All of our rooms are either double or twin en-suite and are decorated in tasteful ethnic style, each with their own private entrance for our guest’s convenience. Two spacious suites are available for guests traveling with their children. For your comfort and convenience all our rooms have either ceiling fans or air conditioning, for cool winter evenings additional heating and blankets are provided. TV’s and hospitality trays are available in all rooms to give you that ‘at home’ feeling. The safety and security of our guests is of prime importance to us at the Lodge � we take every precaution necessary to make you feel safe and at ease during your stay with us.

Breakfasts and dinners are served daily from the spacious dining area or on warm summer days the veranda overlooking the tranquil surroundings of the gardens.

Our serene environment is perfectly suited to your intimate weddings, where our in house co-ordinators are available to plan every aspect of your special day.
For meetings, team building days, conferences and corporate days our informal lapa is the ideal setting- we are able to cater for groups of up to 40 people.
For all of your business needs we have full office facilities and assistance available.

Once your business day is complete you can relax on the veranda and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings or take a leisurely stroll around our dam and enjoy the bird life.

Is located in Honeydew in the north-western suburbs of Johannesburg. The owners André and Sanet Koekemoer officially opened the guest house in August 2002, naming it “Amakoekoe” as an amusing play on their surname “Koekemoer” interpreted as “ama” meaning “the” and “koekoe” as an abbreviation of “Koekemoer”.

We have also received a Superior classification by the AA Quality Assured Programme, and we were finalists in the 2004 AA Accommodation Awards. The four star graded guest lodge is surrounded by carefully maintained, vibrant gardens.

Flame Lily Inn is an upmarket Guesthouse in the Fairland area close to the vibrant suburbs of Northcliff, Cresta, Florida & Randburg.  Close to O.R Tambo International Airport and others such as Lanseria.  Guests can enjoy the comfort of shopping at Cresta & Clearwater Mall, just a stone through away.

Our gay-friendly establishment currently features 6 bedrooms accommodating 6 to 12 guests.  4 Bedrooms are en suite and 2 with sharing bathroom.  Guests can enjoy the sun on our large deck area with a pool & jacuzzi.

Wake up in the morning to the sound of birds making themselves at home in 2 sculptured gardens and enjoy a full buffet breakfast fit for a king.  Guests can enjoy the luxury of a complimentary bar and relax in our spacious living room or a warm boma pit fire with a complimentary sundowner on their first night on those cold winter nights.  The house has full underfloor heating as well and each room is fitted with a heater or aircon.

Guests can then retire to their luxury rooms fitted with feather down duvets and cushions fit for Royalty, enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of your own room fitted with TV and DSTV, with a set of fresh towels daily.

A fully equipped gym will be at your use any time night and day. Yoga and dance lessons will be introduced at a later stage for the not so gym fanatics.

Guests will have an entertainment area to enjoy a game of pool or just relax in our hubbly bubbly room or book the jacuzzi for an hour or two.

We are situated less than a kilometre from the Coca-Cola Dome at Northgate, close to a wide variety of restaurants, cinemas, shopping and an ice-rink, yet we are in an idyllic country setting. Heatherdale is close to the Randburg CBD, Sandton, Fourways, Monte Casino and nearby to Kya Sands, Laser Park and Strijdom Office centres. The Lion and Rhino Park, and the Randburg Waterfront are also within easy reach and we’re just over an hour from Sun City. We are close to the major routes to OR Tambo International and Lanseria Airports.

The Tradition of Tladi

According to the ancient traditions of the Sotho people of Gauteng, Tladi is the African equivalent of the Thunderbird, the bringer of lightning. The “Milky Way” known as molala-tladi, is “the roosting place of the tladi bird” and in Sotho belief, the molala-tladi “supports the sky, preventing it from falling on the earth.” (Vanishing Cultures of Africa).
