Amakhosi Safari Lodge

Being on foot will bring you even closer to the heartbeat and lifeline of the bush. Add to this a cultural and indigenous aura from the local Zulu people and you have an element of safari that is all too often ignored, one of people, their age old beliefs, cultures and traditions.

The Lodge
The Safari Lodge is situated on the banks of Zululand’s Mkuze River in the 12000 hectare Amazulu Private Game Reserve.

Lodge facilities include a swimming pool, library, curio shop, dining room, lounge and bar. Satellite television in separate lounge. Central email, phone and fax facilities are available at additional charge.

Built in typical Zulu tradition, where the suites are easily accessible to the main lodge. Interact with your own professional guide, enjoy Euro-African cuisine and relax in the comfort of the natural surroundings.

River Suites:
Air-conditioned with lounge, bedroom, bathroom, separate shower and toilet, private game viewing deck overlooking the Mkuze river, air-conditioning, mini-bar and safe. Fully stocked mini bar fridge. Tea and Coffee. Bathroom including Candles, bath salts and bath robes.

Children all ages welcome. Babysitting available on request.

Awake in the mornings to the sound of many species of birds singing, or maybe the sight of an animal or two grazing outside your room – a bird watchers paradise, and abundant local species of game.

Go on an early morning guided walk and come close to nature at its best – a bird watchers paradise. After breakfast go for a swim or just relax by our sparkling pool. After sunset, go for a night drive.

Do some hunting. After dinner, relax by the fire in our Boma and listen to the night sounds of the African bush. Sungulwane Game Lodge and Zululand have so much to offer its visitors.

Rooms
All rooms are equipped with en-suite showers with hot and cold running water, maid service, and good home cooking, including many traditional South African and succulent venison dishes. Come and be spoiled.
